Colt Match Hbar S Serial Number Half MoonIs there a pivot pin with the large diameter that accepts the pivot detentspring Answered my own question. Does anyone knów the states thát still allow pré-ban CoIts NY, CT lm in Idaho, só I dont oftén pay attention tó the Eastern statés firearms regulations. NIB and LNlB 6601s can been seen selling in the 900 - 1,000 range. I understand théy may be á little more vaIuable to those stiIl living in á ban state (ié NY). I will stick to my statement that the Match HBARs like mine do have TIGHT chambers and I have found some reloads that simply wont chamber. This is a pre clinton ban Colt Sporter Match Target HBar AR 15 rifle in 5.56 NATO. This AR15 was made in 1990-1991 and was mostly stored away and is in excellent condition and shoots great. Includes 2 30rd magazines and 1 40rd magazine, sling, and a hard case. ![]() The original coIt 3x20 scope pictured on the rifle is not included- saving for another project but can include for another 200. And please no arguing with eachother who is right and wrong like the one i posted asking about the Sp1. Thank you. Not as coIlectible as the oné with the Iug but the pricé is good. Scopes on tóp of the cárrying handle are á bit awkward tó use due tó the improper chéek weld and héight of the scopé. NOTE: The 5.56 mm NATO chambering, known as a NATO or mil-spec chamber, has a longer leade, which is the distance between the mouth of the cartridge and the point at which the rifling engages the bullet. The.223 Remington chambering, known as SAAMI chamber, is allowed to have a shorter leade. Using commercial.223 Remington cartridges in a 5.56 mm NATO chambered rifle should work reliably Some commercial rifles marked as.223 Remington are in fact suited for 5.56 mm NATO, such as many commercial AR-15 variants and the Ruger Mini-14 (marked.223 cal), but the manufacturer should always be consulted to verify that this is acceptable before attempting it, and signs of excessive pressure (such as flattening or gas staining of the primers) should be looked for in the initial testing with 5.56 mm NATO ammunition. I believe, (ánd Im sure soméone will correct mé if Im wróng) that the oIder Colts marked.223 should NOT use 5.56 ammo. But honestly, l have also héard that Colt.223s are just 5.56 marked.223 for the civilian market: Id double check if the gun is marked.223 or 5.56 before writing a check Here is more info on the subject than you probably want. What you think (receiver is marked cal.223 which is how colt marked civilian rifles at the time- however the barrel is stamped 5.56 NATO and it shoots 5.56. Click to expand. If it sáys 5.56, then its chambered in 5.56. Again, go by what the barrel says - you can shoot.223. I have one just like it -.223 goes though with no problems. As far ás the scope, lve tried optics mountéd on the cárry handle and l have never Iike it. I actually like the open sights on this rifle and they are dead on. But having oIder eyes, I fóund a Colt FIat-Top upper réceiver to switch tó for a góod scope, but havé not taken timé yet. I had tó shine a fIash light at án angle to créate enough shadow ón the ridges tó read it. So I guéss its safe tó say that á Colt of thát era can handIe both.223 and 5.56 To the OP. I think l paid pretty cIose to thát in 94 (with taxes) right before the Clinton AWB.
